Spacer plate for different preloading of the brake pads with GP / DL brake variants. Most often, the problem occurs with the rear wheel brakes, no pressure point of the brake or spongy brake pedal when kicking.
Who has ever broken his head with his brakes why, why, why is that, will come to the conclusion so that the position of the brake pads not centric and thus wear the brake pads differently, to the maximum that does not wear a brake pad.
For this case, there is now the great tool from MMW the "baking witch", this can be using a hand router and the device bias the brake pads so far and over mill until both brake pads wear.
However, in places, the pads had to be milled over 2mm and then, of course, there is almost nothing left to brake. That's why we now offer a spacer set for the two brake pad types.
The set consists of:
- 1x spacer 1mm
- 1x spacer 1.5mm
- 1x spacer 2mm
With this set you can usually pretension the one brake pad so far without the brake cam is already operated and then abräsen with the jaw witch again circular and then you should have a clean and working braking performance.
After the right spacer is determined in the appropriate strength, you have to bend the two inner tabs on the brake pad to achieve a clean positioning and prevent slipping of the spacer.
With the GP / DL spacers, the two tabs are bent once, because the reused U-profile prevents lateral slippage.
With the LI / LIS / SX / TV spacers, the two tabs are bent over twice to prevent lateral slippage.
Can be used with front and rear drum brakes.
